Great Museum Walk by Bill Davidson today!

This was our July meeting with 30 in attendance, and we all learned a lot about strong design in paintings. Bill had us stand in the middle of the room and look around to see what paintings stood out the most. Those are the ones with the strongest design of their values, usually the darks. He also talked about the idea of connecting the darks to lead the eye through the painting.

This will help all of us to keep a strong design of our values in mind when we are painting.

Our next meeting will be on August 1st at 6:00 pm in the Booth Art Academy Building. Nikki Davidson will be giving us a demo on painting Big Skies as a preview of her September workshop.

We've been working hard on our monthly meeting schedule and Maria Hoffman Valehrach has an outstanding lineup going into 2024. The schedule for the rest of 2023 is pinned at the top of our Facebook page.

I'm looking forward to being involved with this group. I've only just joined today. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that such an outstanding museum is located in my home town!
